Hudson's favorite sayings

Hudson is absolutely hilarious. He says the silliest cutest things EVER. Favorite sayings: "Mommy, you are so cute." "Mommy, your shoulders are so cute." :) "Mommy, your head is so cute." "Mommy, you feel good. You don't have a tummy ache" "Mommy, I am just doing great." "California is too far mommy. I want to go to Casa Bonita." "Mommy, don't worry, you are awake." "Daddy, your eyes are old." "Mommy, we having a birthday party, we eating candy" (As he sits next to his bambi figurines on the rug of our house.) What a ham!

Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is upon us in in less than a couple of months. I LOVE thanksgiving. I LOVE turkey and mashed potatoes and homemade cranberry sauce. I LOVE entertaining at our house. Since our house isn't ready-we are traveling to TX and I am excited. :) Favorite Thanksgiving decor:
Don't forget the kid's stuff. I was at PBkids ysterday. Aww the Thanksgiving stuff is out:

Sweetest kid's movies.

Hudson LOVES to watch movies (especially early in the morning). I'll lay a blanket out and all his special toys and he will sit there and drink his OJ and watch his movie. It is so sweet and he just loves relaxing. This has caused me to really take a look at the best kid's movies (as we hear them in the background A LOT :)) My favorites include:
I mean seriously, how much sweeter can you get? It is classic, it explores the seasons, the music is gorgeous and it isn't crazy or modern. We consider movies to be better than watching Yo Gabba Gabba. Ick.
The new Winnie the Pooh movie is so beautiful, with Zoey Deschanel songs included and a lot of witty dialogue. So cute.
Dumbo is so beautiful and sweet. What more can be said? Hudson also still loves Toy Story 3. There is no better modern yet adorable kid's movie. It seems like a classic. We've tried Toy Story 1 and 2, but 3 is the cutest. Hands down. I am so grateful that Hudson has the patience to watch something that isn't 3D or HD or modern. I LOVE the classics....

Brick

The builder has installed the brick on the bottom of the house, and we should get our brick walk in the front of the house soon. The drywall was delivered today, and the lot was graded for landscaping. Moving quick now!!! Here is also a picture of the loft with insulation.

Update on the House

Everything is coming along great with the new house. Shingles for the roof were delivered yesterday and put on top of the roof to store until they are installed (this could take a while as we have noticed this is usually one of the last things they do outside), the insulation is in 100%, and the drywall will start likely today or tomorrow. Two weeks out from today, we should have our closing date. Also-the builder has told us our landscaping will start soon, to avoid the bad weather and get it in before we move in. We are super excited about this. Last weekend was nice and relaxing. Hudson got his hair cut and we got to hang out with Great Grandma and Grandma and Grandpa at GG's house. So enjoyed seeing her! Here are some pics from our big boy's recent haircut:

We have our pre-drywall walk through for the house on friday. After that, drywall will begin and we will get our closing date. We are estimating mid-late December at this point. Fun fun fun!

Vail

We spent the weekend in Vail and it was absolutely beautiful! The leaves are changing and I just LOVE fall. H had a great time.

Five years of blogging

I have been blogging for more than five years. We started this blog in 2007 with the foundation being built for our first house. Five years ago: We were building/and about to move into our first house. Here is a picture of that house being built in April of 2007.
Then we moved in and this pic is almost five years ago to the day.
Then, we blogged about our new baby.
Now, over five years later, we are waiting on our new house to be built: And dreaming about the next five years....

Siding Almost Complete

We are hoping for some roof prep and dormer siding tomorrow, as the weather is about the change here in Denver, with colder temps and rain expected at week's end. :) We are excited that most of the outdoor stuff should be done before snow comes in a few weeks :)

Our weekend

Yesterday we spent the day hanging out, we made a family breakfast with some New Braunfels Smokehouse peppered bacon. Yummy. Next, we promised Hudson a nice long walk outside, so we walked over to the new house. The workers were still working, which made us happy because maybe we will actually have a house someday! Next, we promised our little guy a trip to the Disney Store (his FAVORITE place ever besides Disneyland) where he gets a surprise when he is good. So-we ran to Flatirons, and Hudson got a Tigger stuffed animal. He LOVES Winnie the Pooh right now. He also asks to go to Disneyland everyday. Now he says following that, "You can't go Hudson, it is so far away." :) I got some Christmas shopping done for him while Brandon distracted him. We also had a nice lunch at our favorite Mexican Food Restaurant-H loves chips and salsa. We went to H&M (crazy busy but very cute) and also checked out the fall decor and kitchen items at Williams Sonoma. I can't wait until I have a regular house again! We came home and watched UT beat New Mexico. Go horns! Today, we stayed in for a while and stayed pretty low key. Then we went to grocery shop and have a nice dinner as a family. It was a VERY low key weekend. We are over half way done living in the 700 sq ft. loft. Although it hasn't been as bad as I thought-we will be very happy to move into our house. The builder told us 145 days is approx timeframe from date of removal of forms from foundation. That puts us at 104 days left. We shall see-maybe we are ahead. We will find out once drywall is in and will get a set closing date. Here is a pic of the recent siding progress on the house. The missing windows are for drywall entry, which should arrive VERY soon.

APPLES!!

It is almost officially fall! Time for apples, cider, football, pumpkins! We are excited here in the Albano house! Hudson is going to be a hedgehog for Halloween!

September 6, 2012 Progress

Siding on back of house/ side porch area is almost done. The window on the east side of H's playroom is put in. I love this window. The bottom opens up while the top remains solid.

More siding progress September 5, 2012

We are about 100 to 110 days away from the house being ready! We are psyched. Here is another photo from today, more siding progress:

Dining Room Lighting

We are slowly choosing lighting for our new house. We added a lot of lighting and a lot of rough-ins, including sconces, etc. Here are our selections for the dining room. We are so excited to have a formal dining room:
Center fixture

                                                                   Sconces along wall

We have a door onto the porch from our dining room. We are so excited to get an old-fashioned wooden screen door to let in fresh air in the spring/ summer/ fall.

Hudson Benjamin

I haven't done just a simple update on Hudson lately and boy has he changed! Hudson is almost 2 and 1/2. I can't believe it!!! He has quite the little personality. He is loving, very very smart, sensitive and demanding ;) (wonder who he gets that one from). A few of his favorite things:

Toy Story 3. He watches it multiple times in a week. And I have to agree with him. I am pretty sure it is the sweetest kid's movie EVER. I am excited to get him some Christmas movies, including Christmas Winnie the Pooh-it looks so precious and I just love sweet kid's movies like that.

Cars. Of any kid. Period. This kid loves cars. Trash Trucks. Buses. Especially Trash Trucks. In Our loft, every tuesday morning the trash truck comes and every wednesday the recycling truck. He sits on the porch and watches during that event :) So sweet.

Fruit. Veggies. Our kiddo loves fruits and veggies. Especially Peas!! Fruit: Apples, nectarines, raspberries, watermelon, you name it.

Mommy. He is a mommy's boy. And how could I possibly complain about that?

Hudson can count to fifteen, in English and count to ten in spanish. He knows all of his colors in spanish. Our little guy will start preschool in May 2013. We were going to start him earlier, but decided to wait til 3.  How exciting!

Casa Bonita with Cousin Erica!

We are getting siding and doors

 Siding on back of house.

Front door (which will actually be changing because we requested one with full sidelights instead of half)

Playroom Ideas

We are excited to have a "real" playroom for Hudson to enjoy. Here are some photos of ideas we have to make the space fun and functional. First, we want to create a "space" area-where he has a telescope out of one of the side windows in the loft and can learn about the stars, complete with planet mobile. We also want to include an art area and fun relaxing book areas. See pics below :)
