Pregnancy Update

We had an awesome time in California. I realized as a pregnant lady how much better one feels at sea level (so much oxygen :)! I am in my fifteenth week now-and things are moving along nicely. I am gaining energy daily but still get pretty tired and require quite a bit of sleep.  I have started feeling the baby move MUCH earlier than with Hudson. Kind of crazy, but I am positive I feel the flutters. :)

On the home front-our shutters were finally installed-just in time for some very warm weather last week. Our patio has been delayed due to massive snowfall the past two months. Hoping for dry temps so it can go in very very soon!  Hudson has had a great time in his yard with the warmer temps. We are super bummed to report potential snowfall tmrw. Booo!

Happy May to everyone!

California

We had a great time in Laguna Beach! We stayed right on the beach and it was amazing. Here are just a couple of pics of our beach time and Disneyland adventure!

New nursery ideas....

I had an interesting idea of potentially using some peach in the nursery instead of yellow. I am toying with the idea and wondering if there will be anything out there to match my newly found "Peaches and Cream" idea. Hmmm....so fickle. What is a pregnant woman to do?  Of course, we love our furniture so won't be changing that out, but I do love the idea of peach!

Growing Right Along...

We had our 12 week screen on friday. It was so exciting to see the baby on screen and everything looked healthy! The doctor had moved our appointment a few times, and she felt bad because Brandon almost had to miss it (but he made it :)) so she gave us the free 3D ultrasound. We never had one with Hudson because usually they are done late and we never want to know if we are having a boy or a girl. We weren't expecting a 3D and were very excited to see such detail. It even appeared the baby was playing with the cord at certain points. We then heard the heartbeat, which was 166 for all you gender guessers out there. My intuition says Girl, but who knows!

We will likely spend the day here tmrw picking out paint colors for the baby's room, Hudson's room, the kids' bathroom and also finalizing patio plans. We are having our backyard landscaped in ten days! We are soooo excited to have usable space (right now it is just grass and a tree)! Just hope the weather holds out so they can get it done. It seems we can't get warm around here!!! At least we are excited for a bit of rain!

The rest of our shutters will go in thursday. Thank goodness-seems like these things take forever to make-we have been waiting for 9 weeks!

Pregnancy Update

I am twelve weeks! Can't believe the first trimester is about over.  I am able to eat more variety and have less food aversions than I did a few weeks ago. I am still absolutely exhausted at times and require a lot of sleep.  I am still eating a lot of fruit including apples, which are my favorite. I also love dried strawberries. We have our 12 week ultrasound on friday and are really excited to see the baby on screen.  We will not be finding out if this baby is a girl or a boy until October when this baby makes his or her debut.

Hudson loves tickling the baby, i.e. tickling my stomach. :) He loves talking about the baby and has named his or her Penelope :) Funny guy. Just to note-Penelope is not on the current list of names.

We have our boy name picked out but no idea on a girl name. We will not be sharing names :) Another surprise for the fall!

Hope all had a great weekend!

Nursery Developments

We will be choosing the paint color for the new nursery soon. We are thinking either Moonlight or Jicama by Benjamin Moore.

I think a yellow and cream nursery would be easy to turn into a girl nursery if the baby is a girl.

Some ideas I am considering:

This is moonlight. I really like it.

And jicama was the color we painted our guest bedroom in our old house:

But it might be too orange-I need to choose. If we go with Jicama I think the below bedding works:

Or I could go with the moonlight paint and go with the traditional Harper nursery bedding, unless that is too much yellow:
Too much to decide!

Signs of Spring!

Here are some pics from the dining room as we prepped to host Easter brunch. Wonderful easter cookies.
 Beautiful Tulips.
Dining Room with Easter decor (tulips prepping).
New ceiling fans on porch. I LOVE them.

 Finally some spring flowers!

Snap dragons and pansies.
Signs of green grass! Stay away snow!

We hosted an Easter lunch for our family last Sunday. It was so fun I didn't really get any pictures, but we had a great time! We made tomato mozzarella salad, ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, deviled eggs, my Aunt Janet brought her wonderful bread and mom made her wonderful salad! We ended with pistachio gelato and Italian cookies.  It was a great day! Hudson enjoyed his day!
